Ballet Curriculum
At Twinkle Toes Dance Studio, we highly recommend students learn Classical Ballet. A sound ballet technique provides an easy transition into other styles of dance. Ballet trains the body carefully, developing strength, control, coordination and line. We offer recreational ballet classes as well as classes in Royal Academy of Dance Ballet syllabus from Primary to Advanced Foundation. We follow the Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus. Miss Bre has achieved her Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies and is a Registered Teacher with the RAD and as such is the main teacher for all of our RAD Classes. We offer classes from Primary to Advanced levels. If we don't offer the class you are looking for - contact us for a chat and we will see what we can do! |
Tap Curriculum
Tap is an excellent class for kids that love to move and groove to the rhythm. It is a great way to develop rhythm and an understanding of tap skills. In our tap classes, we follow the Glen Wood Tap Syllabus. It provides a wonderful basis in technique and unique rhythm styles to teach tappers a diverse range of skills. We also offer exams in the Glen Wood Tap syllabus. We have had excellent results in past years and look forward to more students participating in exams. |
Jazz & Hip Hop Curriculum
Our Jazz and Hip Hop classes are full of fun, energy and boppy music! They are great for the kids that love to move and groove. Our teachers endeavor to create classes that include current styles, music and dance moves. Jazz incorporates more technique and classic jazz styles, as well as current styles of jazz to a whole range of musical styles. Hip Hop is a more hard hitting style that is great for sharp, strong dance moves. These classes are a great choice for any dancer that loves to dance to pop-style music! |
Contemporary Curriculum
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It is often performed to a range of musical styles including slow, expressive music to sharp, rhythmical music. Our teachers research and incorporate current trends in dance whilst teaching a good foundation in technique. This is an excellent class for kids that love dancing to slow, flowy music and is a great starting place for beginner dancers or experienced dancers. |
Acro Cirriculum
Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context. We follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus and separate our classes by ability rather than age as we have found this allows dancers to be challenged appropriately for their skills and abilities to have them achieve their personal best. This is a wonderful style for kids that love to roll and tumble. We are also introducing CHEERLEADING to our Acro Curriculum. Cheerleaders do not cheer for other teams... WE are the team! All Star Cheerleading is composed of stunting, pyramids, group tumbling, jumping and a dance break. The athletes are not only trained to get their bodies to peak physical fitness but also learn the important “life lesson’s” of respect, dedication, self-confidence, commitment, sportsmanship and most importantly, teamwork. |
